During this tour you’ll get to know the central part of Montenegro, which is historically enriched as well.
The program:
Our first stop will be Cetinje – the ancient capital of Montenegro, where you’ll be able to visit Cetinje’s Monastery, which was built in 1484, as well as town, and it’s considered as a symbol of independence of Montenegro.
The monastery was founded by Ivan Crnojevic, who is also a founder of the town.
Although the monastery was burnt by the Turks for 3 times, it was rebuilt every time all over again. In addition to enriched and difficult history, it preserves the most important Othodox relics: the right hand of the John the Baptist, the particle of the Holy Cross, as well as the relics of Petar I Cetinjski (19th century).
You’ll also have the opportunity to stroll through this cultured town and get to know its history and sights.
After visiting Cetinje, we’ll head off to the National Park Lovcen. Lovcen represents a mountain spectrum of unusual configurations, a masterpiece of nature, which Montenegrins consider their Olymp.
On the top of Lovcen, there is a mausoleum of Njegos, who was a poet, philosopher, bishop and ruler of Montenegro in 19th century. Also, you’ll be having an unforgettable view on whole Montenegro. Descending from the top you’ll be able to enjoy the protected forests and fields of the National Park.
After that, we’ll visit the village Njegusi, where you’ll have the opportunity to taste all Montenegrin specialities – ham, cheese, wine, rakija and relax with a glass of wine.
In the end, we’ll be descending down the Lovcen, where you’ll be able to enjoy the stunning view of Boka Kotorska Bay, from a heights of 1000 m, which one you won’t forget.
